Ultra Red Green Acan Lordhowensis Coral
Micromussa lordhowensis, commonly called Acan Lord, is a colorful, fleshy large polyp stony coral known for its rounded polyps, bold color patterns, and classic reef aquarium appeal. It often displays bright red, orange, green, purple, blue, yellow, or multicolor combinations, with each polyp forming a soft, inflated “button-like” shape when fully expanded. This coral is popular because it brings strong color to lower-light areas of the reef and has a beautiful feeding response, making it an excellent choice for LPS coral collectors and reef hobbyists looking for a hardy, eye-catching coral.
Coral Care
Acan Lordhowensis does best with low to moderate lighting, gentle to moderate indirect flow, and stable reef aquarium parameters. Place it on the sand bed or lower rockwork and avoid strong direct flow, which can keep the fleshy polyps from expanding fully. This coral benefits from occasional target feeding with small meaty foods, mysis, or coral foods, especially when feeding tentacles are visible. Give it space from nearby corals, as it can sting or be damaged by aggressive neighbors, and keep alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, salinity, and temperature stable for best long-term health and color.
