Lucky for us, these are two experimental sorcerers of significant renown.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eTheir debut album together as \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBody\/Head\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eComing Apart\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, from 2013, was more of a rock record—heavy, emotional, cathartic, spellwork in shades of black and grey. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Switch\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e is their second studio full-length, and it finds the duo working with a more subtle palette, refining their ideas and identity. Some of it was sketched out live (if you’ve not had the fortune of seeing them in that natural environment yet, see 2016’s improvisational document \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNo Waves\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e), but much of it happened purely in the moment. Working in the same studio and with the same producer as \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eComing Apart\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, here \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBody\/Head\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003estretch out, making spacious pieces that build shivering drones, dissonant interplay,\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eGordon’s\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003emanipulated vocals, and scraping, haunting textures into something that feels both delicate and dangerous.
